Throughout the whole race, the team asserted control over the race by taking responsibility at the head of the peloton. Unfortunately, Grignard and Van de Wynkele were both involved in a crash that led to a brief neutralization of the race. Both riders were able to continue without any serious injuries and were later contributing to the team’s overall performance.
As the race progressed into its finale, our team remained at the forefront, fighting for the best possible position to launch De Lie. Thanks to the strong positioning done by Menten, Arnaud De Lie was able to finish off the hard work by sprinting to a well-deserved victory. Adding to the team’s success, Milan Menten sprinted to a strong fifth-place finish.
After the race, a delighted De Lie reflected on both the victory and the team effort behind it: “It means a lot to win here today. Not only because it is close to home, but also because the team worked so well today. I’m really glad to finish off their fantastic work with a victory. Of course, this race is a different kind as the classics, but I am very relieved to be able to raise my hands again. It gives me a lot of confidence for the upcoming races on the calendar.”
